Eugenia “Jean” Bankston Cox, 82, a lifelong resident of the Stoney Point community and a loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025 at the age of 82. She was born in Franklinton on December 19, 1942 and was a 1960 graduate of Franklinton High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Harold Cox, on January 13, 1962.
She was a longtime member of Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church and truly loved the Lord. She enjoyed sharing stories from her childhood, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to talk, and she never met a stranger.
Jean worked at Washington/St. Tammany Electric Co-Op for many years and later worked as a paraprofessional at Franklinton Elementary School where she enjoyed interaction with the students.

Brothers-in-law and Sisters in law: Kinell and Nancy Cox, Wayne and Dee Cox
Special friends: Carolyn Smith and Bobbi Bennett
Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members
Jean was welcomed into heaven by her husband Harold Cox, parents Artis Bankston and Camille Stafford Bankston, brother James Harold Bankston, father-in-law Leo Cox, mother-in-law Eloise Cox, brother-in-law Wilvie Cox and niece Kyra Cox Wilson.
A graveside funeral service will be held in the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 with Elder Don McDaniel and Elder Brent King officiating.
