An enthusiastic crowd came to downtown Franklinton this past Friday morning for the traditional Washington Parish Fair flag-raising ceremony. With the raising of the fair flag in front of the courthouse, Fair Season has officially begun.
Many parish elected officials were on hand and were introduced by Fair Secretary Kaye Ladner.
The Franklinton High School band performed for the ceremony (shown in above photo), and Leann Adcox sang a memorable rendering of the National Anthem.
Students from FHS who are cadets in the school’s Marine Corps Junior ROTC served as a Color Guard and raised the fair flag.
And with the raising of that flag, Fair Season was officially underway in Washington Parish.
