Editor, The Era-Leader:
When right is right and wrong is wrong despite legal opinion! Last week’s headlines in The Era-Leader read: “Local company did not get fencing job; Board explained why.”
The newspaper article stated a local company, Thomas Fence, was the projected recipient. However, the company was named a non-responsive bidder when it was discovered that a required line item was not contained within the submitted bid.
However! The article failed to mention that the bid document provided by Washington Parish School Board employees to Thomas Fence was missing the required line item. Had this required line item been included in the bid document received from WPSB, it would have been included in the bid packet submitted by Thomas Fence.
To validate this please watch the video of the Feb 6th WPSB committee and board meeting. This will clearly explain that Thomas Fence lost the bid because of a mistake made by WPSB.
WPSB had the choice to throw out all bids and rebid but they chose to correct their mistake at my expense.
Why?
