With only 1 second on the clock, the Franklinton Demons football team took an improbable 20-16 win over Covington Thursday night.
FHS quarterback Kerston Diddon took the snap with only a second remaining and fired a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jayden Burkhalter in the end zone, as seen in the photo above.
As the officials signaled that the touchdown was good, the FHS fans went wild and Burkhalter skipped jubilantly out of the end zone. The Covington players and coaches looked on in shock. An earlier 9 point lead for the Lions had become a 1 point victory for the Demons.
The 1-second scoring play will without a doubt become a long-remembered Franklinton football miracle!
