The Franklinton Demons baseball team won their final regular season game last Monday against the Bogalusa Lumberjacks, 12-2.
The Demons got on the board first as they used two hits, two base on balls and a hit batter for a 3-0 after one inning. They added four more runs in the second inning to go up 7-0. An additional three runs in the third on a single and two errors gave them a 10-0 score.
The Demons added another run in the fourth on Jenkins' double and an RBI single by Dalton Freeman.
The Jacks got on the board in the top of the fifth as they loaded the bases on two singles and a walk before a wild pitch allowed a run to score and a groundout allowed another. The final out of the inning was on a Jack runner who tried to tag up and score on a short fly ball.
The Demons scored the necessary runs in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the run rule and the Demons won 12-2.
Dalton Freeman began the game on the mound for the Demons and pitched one inning giving up three hits, no walks and striking out two. Rick Songy pitched one and two thirds of an inning and struck out two and allowed two hits. Bentley Crawford came in and pitched one inning allowing no hits and striking out two. Kaedyn Jenkins pitched one third of an inning striking out the one batter he faced. Ethan Buffinet pitched one inning allowing two singles and one walk.
Bryce Barber led the Demons offensively with a triple and two singles, DaRon Sinceno had a double and a single, Kaedyn Jenkins had a double, Jordy Thomassen, Dalton Freeman and Jojo Burkhalter each had a single.
