The Franklinton Demons baseball team ended their regular season last week with a win over Bogalusa before ending their playoff appearance with two losses to district rival Lakeshore.
The Demons fell to Lakeshore 17-2 and 14-1 in a best of three first round series in the Division II Non Select playoffs. The series was played at Lakeshore on Thursday and Friday of last week.
The Demons ran rough shod over the visiting Bogalusa Lumberjacks last Monday at Demon Diamond. The Demons came away with a five inning win over their cross parish rivals, 10-0.
The Demons scored two runs in the first inning and added another in the third for a 3-0 advantage. Four more runs were put on the scoreboard in the third for a 7-0 lead over the Lumberjacks.
The Demons added one more in the fourth and scored two runs in the fifth to end the game via the ten run rule. The Lumberjacks threatened in the fifth as they had two runners on but they were shut out and the game ended.
The lone senior of the 2025 team , Elisha Hart, had a double and a single, JoJo Burkhalter had two singles while Daron Sinceno, Kaden Breaux, Dalton Freeman and Kaedyn Jenkins each had singles and Cayman Pugh had a double.
On the mound Bryce Barber pitched four innings allowing no hits and just one walk while striking out four. Ethan Buffinet pitched one inning allowing two hits while striking out three batters.
