The Franklinton Lady Demons basketball team won a non district game over Fredrick Douglas in a big way last week, 43-10. The Lady Demons, coached by Coach Atari Warner, dominated the game from start to finish.
The Lady Demons roared out to a 10-4 lead after the first period before an even better second period moved the score to 22-6 at the halftime intermission. A 7-2 third period pushed the score to 29-8 before they had their best showing in the fourth period with a 14-2 score for a final of 43-10.
Akeilee McClain lead the game with twelve points, A'mia Bickham had seven, Jaliyah Bickham had six, Alandria Warner had five, Ella Hall had four, Ta'nya cook had two as did Kylei Jefferson and Kayla Crosby had one point.
L. Riley was the leading scored for Douglas with four points.
The Lady Demons will play the Mt Hermon Lady Yellow Jackets on December 18 on the road for another non district schedule.
The Demons basketball team fell to the Fontainebleau Bulldogs last week with a 69-57 score. The Demons opened the game on fire as they ran out to a 26-21 lead after the first. The Bulldogs came back and were ahead 39-34 at the half. The defense tightened up in the third as the Demons closed the gap to 48-46 after three periods. The Demons couldn't maintain it in the fourth and were out scored 21-11 for the final of 69-57.
Brycetin Peters had eighteen points, DeMarcus Magee had fifteen and Jayden Burkhalter had fourteen.
The Demons will also travel to Mt Hermon to play the Yellow Jackets in a non district game on December 18.
