The Franklinton Junior High Falcons continued their dominant season last Tuesday evening, defeating the Pine Junior High Raiders in impressive fashion to remain undefeated at 7-0. With the victory, the Falcons secured their spot in the upcoming Washington Parish Junior High Championship game, set for October 7.
The Falcons wasted no time setting the tone. On the very first play from scrimmage, Khalifa McClendon electrified the crowd with a 70-yard touchdown run, putting Franklinton up 6-0. Moments later, McClendon was back in the spotlight, recovering a Pine fumble and returning it to the Raiders' 20-yard line. Three plays later, Jemiah Roberts punched it in from 12 yards out, extending the Falcons' lead to 12-0.
After a brief exchange of punts, Franklinton's offense struck again. Quarterback Dkari Williams led a quick four-play, 50-yard drive capped by a 38-yard touchdown pass to Kedarrius Warren. The Falcons entered halftime firmly in control with an 18-0 lead.
The second half saw more of the same from the Falcons. After the Raiders turned the ball over on downs at their own 39, Franklinton engineered a methodical nine-play drive that ended with a 2-yard touchdown run by Williams. He then connected with McClendon for the two-point conversion, pushing the score to 26-0.
With the game well in hand, the Falcons' reserves closed out the final quarter, running out the clock and sealing the shutout win.
Franklinton will now turn its focus to the parish championship game on October 7, looking to complete a perfect season and bring home the title.
