The Franklinton Demons remain the lone parish team and along with the Sumner Cowboys are the lone teams from the entire Northshore area still playing football during Thanksgiving week. It is a sign of a solid football program when a team is playing consistently year in and year out during Thanksgiving week.
The 8 seeded Demons will travel to play the 1 seeded North Desoto Griffins this week. The winner will play the winner of 13 Cecilia and 5 Plaquemine. If the Demons are successful, they would host Cecilia but travel to Plaquemine.
The last time the Demons played a 1 seed in the playoffs? 2010 versus Karr, whom they defeated for the state championship.
