Game of the Week - Pine (5-1) at Amite (4-2)
The Raiders are looking to continue their excellent season and also look to pick up a quality win over a quality opponent that being the Warriors of Amite. The Warriors have not had a great season but they are well coached and improve steadily throughout the season not to mention the talent on their team. This game will go a long way to improving the winner's power rating which is very important for playoff positioning.
The Fair distractions could have an effect on the Raiders although Coach Seal will have them as focused as possible.
Should be a good one.
Notes and quotes
"It was a tough night. They got after us up front and did a great job of being physical. Their offensive line is phenomenal. Credit them. Their physical play on the offensive line in conjunction with our two turnovers was the difference in the game. We will regroup this week and be ready to go for this run through the end of the season."
---Nick Saltaformaggio, Franklinton head coach.
"It's always big to start 1-0 in district. I thought the last two weeks we have played well in all three phases. We have some momentum and we know the challenges that's coming the next couple of weeks. Amite is a top program in the state and we need to be ready to play this week."
---Bradley Seal, Pine head coach.
"Very proud of our guys last night. They have been through so much adversity and yet they never stopped working and continue to give effort and because of that they were rewarded with a district win last night. Proud of our coaches as well. These guys work and give the team their all and tonight's win was just a good win for them all."
---Dean King, Bowling Green head coach.
"We came out clicking on all cylinders last night. I am proud of the way our guys came out being disciplined and playing together. I really believe playing a tougher out of conference schedule helped us last night. Now, we look forward to playing in the district championship against Newton the week after the Fair." --- Destin Pittman, Bens Ford head coach
