It happened early Wednesday, about 1:30 a.m., in Opelousas, the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office and the Opelousas Fire Department told news outlets.
“There were six people inside (the house) and four escaped,” Fire Chief Charles Mason said.
The two who didn't escape were young boys, ages 11 and 12. Their names have not been released.
When firefighters arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames, authorities said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
