Parish Playoff Picture
Franklinton is in good shape at #7 in Division II. They have a winnable game this week and will likely stay at #7. A loss would possibly move them down a spot or so.
Pine is at #17 and also have a winnable game this week. A win could possibly, and hopefully, move them up into the top 16 for a home first round playoff game.
Bogalusa is at 23 and could use a win to secure that spot or possibly move up. They have a game that is possible to win, so they really need the win this week.
Varnado is sitting at #28, which is the last team that gets in. A win this week would be an upset so if they lose, they will really need help from their opponents this season to win and give them power points.
Reminder that the top 28 teams in the power ratings receive playoff berths. The top 16 receive first round home games and the top 4 receive first round byes. The higher seeded team (1 being the highest and 28 the lowest) will be the home team throughout the playoffs.
Notes and quotes
"A win is a win. We kept moving the ball, but penalties hurt us over and over. I felt that was the best we have played defensively since I have been the head coach. Hats off to the defensive coaches and players for executing the game plan to a "T".
Our kicking game especially our coverage units have been excellent. This time of the year we are going to play teams that are playing as hard as they can to get into the playoff bracket so we have to be prepared to play hard every down. Win and move on is now the mindset."
---Nick Saltaformaggio, Franklinton head coach.
"I was happy for our team to get a win. I thought we played well in all three phases of the game. Give credit to Bogalusa. They have a lot of injuries but they are still showing up working."
---Bradley Seal, Pine head coach.
"This group has been through so much adversity this year. We are down several starters with injuries. We always talk about sticking together and working together and never quitting. These young men get another chance to play the game in the playoffs. We face a team who plays hard and we will be on the road. These guys continue to play hard and who no quit. That says a lot about this team and I'm glad to see them get another shot in the playoffs."
---Dean King, Bowling Green head coach.
