James Randall Stafford passed away Wednesday morning June 3, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, friendship, and a lifelong passion for the outdoors.
Randy was the devoted husband of Debbie Stafford, with whom he shared countless adventures and cherished memories. Together, they traveled across the United States pursuing one of their greatest passions—turkey hunting. Their journeys created a lifetime of stories, laughter, and experiences.
Randy was a proud father to six children: Randall Stafford (Emily), Jason Stafford (Stacey), David Stafford (Robin), Cole Taylor (Kourtney), Tia Taylor, and Crystal Taylor. His greatest joy was being “PawPaw” to his grandchildren: Tyler Stafford, Drew Stafford, Emery Stafford, Charlee Stafford, Lillian Stafford, Jordan Harrison, Vivian Stafford, Archer Stafford, Maddox Taylor, and Eli Taylor. He treasured every moment spent with them and was proud to watch them grow.
He is also survived by his sister, Cindy Stafford Knight, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Hollis Stafford; his mother, Mrs. Olive Stafford; his brother, Hollis “Pete” Stafford III, and a sister Barbara Stafford Cutchall.
A licensed pharmacist since 1973, Randy dedicated much of his professional life to serving his community. He proudly owned and operated Forshag’s Drug Store and Pro Stop Hunting Supply for many years, where he built lasting relationships with customers and friends alike. His commitment to helping others, whether through healthcare or his business endeavors, earned him the respect and admiration of many.
An avid outdoorsman, Randy dedicated much of his life to hunting, conservation, and mentoring others. He served as President of Sportsman Rut-n-Strut, where he worked tirelessly to promote outdoor traditions and opportunities for future generations. He had a special passion for teaching young people about hunting, wildlife, and respecting the outdoors, and he touched the lives of many through his guidance and encouragement.
One of Randy’s proudest accomplishments was completing the 49 Slam of turkey hunting—harvesting a turkey in every state where wild turkeys are hunted. This remarkable achievement was a testament to his dedication, skill, and love for the sport. Whether in the woods at sunrise, sharing hunting stories with friends, or introducing a young hunter to the outdoors, Randy found happiness in every moment spent in nature.
Randy will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering dedication to his family, his love for the outdoors, and the positive impact he made on countless lives. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on through the family he loved, the friends he cherished, and the many people he inspired.
A life so well lived leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever.
