Joan Pace Kennedy of Stateline has recently released her second book of poetry, “Love, Laugh, and Listen...Life Goes On”.
A mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she has been writing since high school. Her life experiences are varied and expressive. She writes words as they “come to her” and shares them with others.
After teaching for 36 years, she put a group of poems together to have her first book published. Once again, she has compiled words to create this second volume of poetry.
The collection contains reflections of life experiences and expressions of joy, as well as values, and beliefs.
With both a BA and MEd, she is a retired teacher/librarian. She has been honored as Washington Parish Teacher of the Year and also received Librarian of the Year, Educator of the Year, and the Service Award sponsored by the Louisiana Reading Association.
She is a past president of Louisiana Reading Association and has been featured in the International Reading/Literacy Association’s “Reading Today Online”.
The books are available from Mrs. Kennedy and at Mike’s Flooring in Franklinton and Merle Norman Cosmetics in Bogalusa.
A book signing has been planned for Tuesday, July 7 at Gayle’s Jewelers in Bogalusa from 2 to 5 p.m. and on Thursday, July 16 at the Washington Parish Library in Franklinton from 2 to 4 p.m.
