Joseph Baldassaro, Jr., 65, a resident of Franklinton passed away Friday evening January 2, 2026 at East Jefferson General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 28, 1960 and was a native and longtime resident of Marrero before moving with family to Washington Parish over 20 years ago. Joe worked as a mechanic and in sales at Terrell’s Lawnmower in the Pine Community for many years. He enjoyed riding his tractor and working on his farm, taking care of his cows and chickens. Joe loved deer hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors. He was a very kind person that was a friend to everyone he met and he always enjoyed visiting with them. Joe liked spending time with his friends and family and he had a special place in his heart for his pet dogs Rosy and Duke.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Baldassaro, Sr. and Dorothy Ann Champagne Baldassaro and other family members.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Baldassaro Family Cemetery with Eld. Lerand Hunt and Rev. Patrick Magee officiating.
The family was served by Crain Funeral Home of Franklinton.
