Citizens of Washington Parish, it's that time of the year. Parents, are you taking advantage of this? Most of our local churches have Vacation Bible School programs.
These are wonderful events that provide games, songs, snacks in a wholesome environment, while providing a spiritual program to introduce children to God and Jesus Christ. Now understand, this isn't a very deep or specific study of scripture. Nope, this is songs and games and fun for kids to enjoy.
Most Vacation Bible School programs are about 4-5 days for a few hours each day. It provides an outlet for your children to have fun, make some new friends, and burn off some of that summertime energy.
Most programs are free and about the most parents have to provide is transportation. Of course, if parents want to get involved, rest assured that volunteers are welcomed. So, contact your close-by, local churches and see what they have going on.
My own home church, Sunlight Baptist Church, will be having our Vacation Bible School July 24-28 at our location on Sunlight Road.
