Georgia Queen Davis McCant, beloved and respected mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in Hanford, California, at the age of 103.
Born on Sunday, June 23, 1918, to the late Hayes and Creasie Davis, in Clifton, Louisiana, she grew up with her 6 brothers and 4 sisters, as the 10th of 11 children. She married Arizona McCant in 1938, and they were married 62 years. They had 2 children: Jerome, who preceded her in death, (wife, Frances), and Ellis, (wife, Cynthia).
She was an usher, and a devoted, lifelong church family member of Bethel Church of Christ Holiness USA, in Franklinton, Louisiana.
Mrs. Georgia is survived by: 1 son, Ellis (Cynthia) McCant of Hanford, California; 9 grandchildren: Jerome, Jr. (Felicia), Kenneth, Ricky (Kim), Regina, Lisa (Anthony), Vincent (Darecia), Ellis, Jr. (Angela), Evan, and Errol; 14 great grandchildren: Melissa, Kentoris, Khia, Rickita, Alexis, Stephen, Jaden, Marcus, Janae, Mariah, Imani, Aneesah, Evan, Jr., and Ava; And, 4 great-great grandchildren: Nasia, Latriel, Kenadi, and Yani; And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Services in her honor will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness, USA, 25333 Harvey Road, Franklinton, LA 70438, with Pastor Alvin Partman officiating.
Interment will be held immediately following the service at Bethel Church Cemetery, followed by repast, also at Bethel.
