Linda Marie Navarre Chiasson, 78, a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday morning September 30, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Harvey, LA on December 31, 1947 and lived most of her life in Harvey and Gretna before she and her husband moved to rural Washington Parish near Franklinton in 2000. Linda worked in the finance department for the U.S. Naval Base in Algiers for several years and had a long career as a teller for FNJ Bank in Gretna before retiring. She was strong in her faith and a member of Victory Baptist Church, who truly loved the Lord and her church family. Linda enjoyed being active outdoors and really loved playing volleyball, cabbage ball and other sports with her family and grandchildren. She always cherished the great times they spent together and will be sadly missed by her loved ones.
She was the mother of 3 children and their spouses Kenneth and Caren, David and Donna, Stacy and Peggy. Linda was the loving grandmother of Brock, Brittny, Danyelle, Bethany, Kirsten, Mariah, Jacob, Brian and several other grandchildren. A caring great-grandmother to 10. Also survived by a sister Carol, godchildren Karen Ann and Donna, and she was an aunt and great-aunt to so many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Buford “Bruce” Chiasson, mother Enola Navarre, brother Daniel Navarre, mother in law Juanita Chiasson, godchild Michelle and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Saturday October 3rd from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Gary King officiating.
