UPDATED WITH TICKET INFO
Here's the final score from the FHS-Iowa semi-final football playoff game:
FHS 35 Iowa 29
With the win, the FHS Demons now advance to the LHSAA Division II championship game Friday evening (Dec. 13) in the Superdome. The game starts at 7 p.m.
The FHS Demons are returning to the site of their 2010 state championship win over Karr. Franklinton also played in the state championship game in 2009, losing to Neville. The Demons' first trip to the state championship game occurred in 1981, when they finished as state runners-up.
Franklinton's win came on a late game 31 yard pass from Quarterback Jacob Crain to Dalton Freeman, capping a 6-play, 58-yard scoring drive. Then the Demon defense stopped a final Iowa drive, and Franklinton was headed to the Superdome!
In the championship game FHS will face Cecilia. While Cecilia is seeded at #18, that seeding is extremely deceptive. Cecilia has upset four straight higher seeds to reach the state championship game.
