The coaches of district 8-4A that include Franklinton, Lakeshore, Salmen, Hannan, Loranger and Pearl River recently released the All District football team and as usual the Demons of Franklinton High were well represented with seven first team selections and five second team selections. The Demons also have the defensive MVP for the first time since 2016.
On the offensive side quarterback Zion Anders was selected as first team quarterback after passing for over 2100 yards in eleven games. Anders was a first team selection last season as an athlete and has at least one offer to play on the next level. One of Anders' favorite targets was also selected to the first team as Kelly Daniels had well over 800 yards receiving in his junior season. Daniels was also a first team selection in 2021 as a receiver and has numerous offers to play after high school. Rounding out the offensive first team is Tradell Causey, a senior offensive lineman.
On defense Khaled Waliagha, who has committed to play for Army-West Point, was selected to the first team and voted district defensive MVP for 2022 and was also a 2021 first team selection. Kollin Williams and Senqualon Conerly were selected as first team defensive backs and both players also were key players on offense as well for the Demons. Kade Lavigne was selected as the first team kicker.
Five Demons were chosen to the second team as back Micah Hart and receiver Daniel Bryant were chosen to the second team offense. Defensive linemen D'Michael Ward and Tradell Causey along with linebacker Timarion Partman were chosen to the second team defense.
All of these players, with the exception of Kelly Daniels (a junior) who has several offers to play college football, are seniors and will be sorely missed at FHS next football season.
