A very proud Aubrey and Minnie Posey of Washington Parish recently had the opportunity to see their grandson Gunner Posey play football for the Starksville MS High School Yellowjackets. SHS is a school with 2,300 students. Gunner, a guard, is currently a junior on the undefeated Class 7A team.
Gunner's father, Colonel Jason Posey was a Franklinton High School Demon football standout and baseball player who graduated in 1994. Jason played football on scholarship at West Point Military Academy and has served in the Army since. He and his wife Erin also have a daughter, Sarah. Jason Posey is currently the ROTC Commander at Mississippi State University, and he is planning to retire from the Army in December 2024.
Pictured above are Gunner and his grandfather Aubrey Posey Sr., who is retired from being the LSU AgCenter agent for Washington Parish. He is also a former Parish Councilman.
