Ouida Mae Rester Minarik, 98, a resident of Franklinton passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, peacefully at Resthaven Nursing Home in Bogalusa. She was born November 16, 1925, in Picayune, MS to Otha Rester and Mae Lee Rester. After graduating from Kiln High School, she worked in Picayune, MS where she met her husband, Herb Minarik. They married and settled in Franklinton where they raised their family. She was a nurse for 28 years. She truly loved life, her family and her Hillcrest Church Family. Ouida was a member of the Noble Queen No. 45 Order of Eastern Star for many years, in which she served as Worthy Matron in the 1960’s.

2 Sons: Herb Minarik, Jr. of Denham Springs, Tom Minarik of Franklinton
5 Grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Minarik, husband Herbert Minarik, Sr., her parents, stepmother Annie Rester, a son in law Max Easterling, daughter in law Ledel Minarik, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Friday, July 12, 2024, after 9am with a funeral service to be held at 11am with Dr. Gene Richards and Rev. Dustin Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Picayune, MS.
