The Franklinton Police Department has made significant progress in the investigation of multiple fast food restaurant burglaries spanning over a dozen jurisdictions across southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi. Sanchez Harold, 36, and Charles Ray Phillips, Jr., 34, both residents of Tangipahoa Parish, have been apprehended in connection with these crimes.
Sanchez Harold faces charges including Burglary of a Commercial Building (Felony) and Criminal Damage to Property (Felony). Charles Ray Phillips, Jr. has been booked for Simple Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property related to the burglary at Wendy’s Restaurant, located in Franklinton at 709 Washington Street on April 29 of this year.
The arrests follow a rigorous two-month investigation led by Sgt. Chris McElveen and Lt. James "Tiger" Folks of the Franklinton Police Department. This investigation involved extensive review of video surveillance footage and collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies utilizing advanced License Plate Reader (LPR) technology.
Sanchez Harold, known for previous criminal activities, is currently on parole for prior offenses.
Lt. Folks, who had previously apprehended Harold in 2013 for the burglary of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Franklinton, noted Harold's prior conviction and sentencing to prison for that incident.
"We commend the collaborative efforts of all involved law enforcement agencies in swiftly bringing these individuals to justice," said Franklinton Police Chief Justin Brown, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation and advanced investigative techniques in combating such crimes.
