Judges and retired senior judges of the 22nd Judicial District gathered at the Washington Parish Courthouse this past Friday morning for the traditional ceremonial opening of the court for its 2024-2025 session.
Also joining the 22nd District judges and retired judges was State Supreme Court Justice Will Crain. Crain, a parish native, is a former 22nd Judicial District judge.
Master of Cermonies was Franklinton attorney James Knight. Other local people involved in the ceremony included Sheriff Jason Smith, Clerk of Court Johnny D. Crain Jr., Judge William H. Burris (Chief Judge of the District), Franklinton attorney Matthew Garver, and The Rev. Jake Roudkovski of First Baptist Church of Franklinton.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Washington Parish Council Room.
