Once again, the Washington Art Association will be holding the annual art show and sale on Sunday, March 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. The show was cancelled last year because of Covid. Artists have had a long period to produce beautiful paintings and other art.
Ann Warner of Warnerton has been one of the driving forces to promote art in the area since she first studied with the late Carl Thorp. She is even more so now, since the start of the annual Washington Art Association Art Show and Sale.
She is co-chairman of the event this year, to be held once again at the home of co-chairman Sara Nelson in Clifton.
A professional artist, Warner has studied art all over the world with many well-known oil painters. Her work is in art galleries in Baton Rouge and many are proud to have her paintings displayed in their offices and homes.
A graduate of LSU, Warner concentrates on painting landscapes, still life, and portraiture and has painted from Maine to Santa Fe, the Bahamas, the United Kingdom, France and Ireland. She has studied with artists such as Alfred Chadbourne, Charles Morvalli, Charles Sovek, John H. Sanden, Morgan Samuel Price, William White, Alice Williams, and Wolf Kahn.
Warner shares her art expertise with students in classes and workshops, both locally and in other areas.
Her colorful paintings will highlight the upcoming show, which will also include the work of many of her students.
Artists exhibiting will include: Sara Nelson, Lenora Frazier, Janis Fisher, Kaye Williams, Christine Beatty, Terry Seal, Johnny Green, Violeta Thomas, Sherri Brown, Donna Kilborne, Lander Thomas, Jane Chapman, Dr. Jerry Thomas, Monica Wood, Abigail Creel, Shelia Fortenberry, Ruby Bickham, Sylvia Dugas, Terri Russell, Ellen Barrett, Curtis Creel, Bob Ann Breland and Sandra Stewart
There will be paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor and others, as well as pottery, wood art, decorative painting and jewelry. Everyone is invited to attend. There is no charge for the show and refreshments will be served.
