During the recent Washington Parish School Board meeting, Mrs. Sheryl Holiday, Gifted/Talented Coordinator for Washington Parish Schools, recognized the winners from Washington Parish of the Louisiana School Board Association Art Competition. A primary/elementary, junior high school, and high school student is selected for this state competition at the district level. The state winners' artworks are then displayed at the State Capitol for one year.
This is the second consecutive year that Washington Parish has had a state winner. This year's state winner is Tynleigh Schilling who attends Franklinton Primary School.
