The Rev. Eddie Henson has been welcomed as the new pastor at Briarwood Baptist Church in Stateline. Rev. Henson and his wife, Sabrina, residents of Pine, are the parents of four children and are blessed with four grandchildren.
“We raised our children in and out of church,” Mrs. Henson said. “In the summer of 2006, our youngest daughter went to a local church for Vacation Bible School. She came home and asked why we didn't go to church like her friends. That impacted our lives so much.”
In August of the same year, the Hensons both surrendered to the Lord. Shortly after, Rev. Henson felt the call to ministry but avoided it for almost two years. On Mother’s Day, 2008, he surrendered to the ministry. He would fill in at different churches over the next few years.
In 2012, he began serving at the first church as pastor and was there for almost seven years. After serving at another church, he moved to be pastor at Briarwood.
The Rev. Henson and Briarwood Baptist Church welcomes all to come and attend worship services. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m., morning worship at 10:30, with evening services at 5 p.m. Wednesday prayer meeting is at 6 p.m.
