A strong baseball season came to an end for the Franklinton Demons Saturday as they fell in the second round of the state 4A playoffs to Lakeshore.
Lakeshore took both the first and second games of a best 2-out-of-3 series, making the 3rd game unnecessary.
Lakeshore won the first game 7-3 and the second game 7-0.
Both teams are in District 9-4A. They, along with Pearl River, were the three district teams playing in Round 2 of the playoffs on Saturday. Both Franklinton and Pearl River lost, leaving Lakeshore as the only 9-4A team still alive in the playoffs.
