Franklinton’s 2024 election for Mayor and Aldermen will coincide with the Presidential election on November 5.
Candidates running for Mayor or Alderman will qualify at the Clerk of Court’s office at the parish courthouse on July 17, 18, and 19.
Non-registered citizens who want to vote in the November 5 election have until October 7 to register.
Franklinton will elect 5 aldermen as well as a mayor. Mayor Greg Route has stated that he’s running for re-election, and Alderman Darwin Sharp has said he will also run for mayor. Other possible candidates have said they are considering seeking town offices this year.
As always, candidates are invited to submit an announcement of candidacy and a photo to The Era-Leader for publication. Candidacy announcements are published on a space-available basis.
