Concerns that Washington Parish students would regress in their learning because of the pandemic apparently are unfounded.
Parish School Superintendent Frances Varnado said that the recently released Simulated School Performance Scores (SPS) for the parish school system actually show an improvement, rather than a decrease.
She said the overall score for the entire district increased from 75.2 (B) to 76.6 (B).
She said she was appreciative of the effort invested during the pandemic to keep learning on track.
“The hard work of the administration, teachers, staff, and parents is what made our students’ growth and success possible during the COVID Pandemic,” Mrs. Varnado commented.
Here is how each school in the Washington Parish School System scored in the recently released SPS scores:
1. Enon Elementary 89.5
2. Pine High School 81.4
3. Thomas Elementary 78.5
4. Franklinton High 78.1
5. Mt Hermon School 75.7
