Parish Schools and Our Veterans Memorial Park are planning programs to honor Veterans Day. While Veterans Day is actually Monday, November 11, the different programs take place on either Friday, Saturday or Monday, so be sure to check the actual date before making plans to attend.
A Veterans Day Salute to our Veterans will be held at Our Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, November 9th at 9 a.m.
Our Veterans Memorial Park is located on Dollar Road at Hwy 10 in the Sheridan area. Guest speaker will be Sheriff Jason Smith, a former Lt. Colonel in the Marine Corps who won the Silver Star during a hostile action in Iraq.
School programs being planned include:
•Pine High School
Monday, November 11
Breakfast 8 am. with program to follow.
•Bowling Green School invites all veterans and their family members to join us for a Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 11. Lunch will be served at 12:15 pm in the sports complex followed by a program in the main gym at 1pm. •Franklinton High School
The FHS Annual Veteran's Day Breakfast and Program will be held on Friday, November 8. Breakfast will begin at 7:15 in the school's library and the program will follow in the FHS gymnasium. Principal Shane Smith, faculty, staff and student body invited all Veterans to attend and bring spouse or guest. If any questions, contact the school at 839-6781.
•Mount Hermon School
Friday, November 8
Lunch served at 11:30, with the ceremony following at 12:30.

•Ben's Ford Christian School
