UPDATE: The fireworks show at the Fairgrounds has been cancelled.
Public events planned in Washington Parish on Monday, July 4, include a parade in Bogalusa and fireworks in Franklinton.
The Bogalusa parade will start at 10 a.m. on the traditional Bogalusa parade route. It is being sponsored by American Legion Post 24.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Honoring Our Vietnam Veterans.”
Those who are actually participating in the parade and their immediate families are invited to lunch at the American Legion Hall following the parade.
In Franklinton, a fireworks show is being planned for the 4th of July.
The fireworks will be held at the Fairgrounds starting at 9 p.m.
The fireworks are being sponsored by the Town of Franklinton, and Franklinton Mayor Greg Route notes that everyone is invited to attend and enjoy the fireworks show.
