A school bus accident Tuesday morning in Enon turned out to be very minor.
Driver Lisa Spears dropped off students at Enon Elementary on Highway 16.
After leaving the school, she turned left onto Lee Road at the flashing traffic light.
However, the steering in her bus malfunctioned and when she turned left, the steering locked up. The bus ran off the road and it took a heavy duty wrecker from Carroll’s in Bogalusa to drag it back onto Lee Road.
Mrs. Spears wasn’t injured and there were no children on the bus.
Traffic was directed around the scene by a Washington Parish Sheriff’s deputy.
Parish school superintendent Frances Varnado said it was fortunate that the accident was minor and that there were no children on the bus.
