State School Performance Scores were released last week. According to Parish School Superintendent Frances Varnado, the Washington Parish School System has accomplished the following in the State Performance Scores:
•It was 1 of 20 school districts that earned an “A” for Student Growth
•Washington Parish School System has a score of 75.9 B
•Enon Elementary School, Franklinton Primary School, Pine High School, and Thomas Elementary School are Top Gains Schools
•The 10 School Performance Scores are as follows:
Enon Elementary School 78.4 B
Franklinton Primary School 61.5 C
Franklinton Elementary School 64.5 C
Franklinton Junior High School 75.9 B
Franklinton High School 77.7 B
Mt. Hermon School 74.9 C
Pine High School 84.9 B
Thomas Elementary School 72.6 C
Varnado High School 70.3 C
Wesley Ray Elementary School 60.9 C
Superintendent Varnado said, “I am proud of our principals, teachers, support staff, and students. Without the hard work and dedication from everyone including parents and community, the Washington Parish School System would not be successful. I understand we have room to grow and I have no doubt that our School System will continue to grow and improve.”
These are the Washington Parish Schools that showed Overall Growth in their SPS score:
•FPS
•FJHS – grew a letter grade from a “C” to a “B”
• PHS
•WRES – highest overall growth in the district
Also:
•FHS, MHS, and VHS grew in Assessment Index and Progress Index
•EES, FES, FJHS, FPS, PHS, TES, and WRES had an “A” for Progress Index score
•FHS, MHS, and VHS had a B for Progress Index Score
•EES, FPS, PHS, TES received Top Gains
