Editor, The Era-Leader:
I feel sad and troubled to see this continued act of degrading and trying to find fault in our Police Chief, Justin Brown. I think there are other people with ethical issues. I think Justin Brown is a Christian man with good moral ethics who cares about the citizens of our parish through his integrity, respect and loyalty.
I know because he showed me the kind of man we have as Police Chief of Washington Parish. I returned home one cold night in November 2020 without my keys to my house. I had left my keys in my car in Baton Rouge. When I got home about 8 pm, I called my neighbor, Sherry Stogner. She called William, her husband, and Kevin Bond and they came immediately to see if they could help me get into my house. They tried everything without any luck. They then called Justin Brown, it was about 9 pm by then and he came right away without question and was able to unlock my door with some special tools he had.
This goes unsaid about what a caring person he is. I feel that he strives to show good ethics in his workplace and toward the citizens of Washington Parish. I feel Justin Brown does not deserve the continued harassment he has received from one thing to another. Thank you, Justin Brown, for your unwavering service as our Police Chief.
