A 14-year-old student was killed and another student was wounded in a shooting last Thursday evening at Bogalusa High School. The shooting continues a wave of gun violence that has caused concern in Bogalusa.
The Bogalusa High School basketball team was playing Covington High inside the school’s gym when gunshots were heard outside.
Police officers stationed at the game investigated and found two young students had been shot.
According to the Bogalusa Police Department, the officers began administering first aid. They called for an ambulance and secured the scene of the shooting.”
One of the students, age 14, died at Our Lady Of Angels hospital. The other student was treated at the hospital.
The name of the deceased student had not been released as of presstime. Police have arrested one person and are seeking another in connection with the shooting.
