The grandchildren of Fletcher and Amanda Dyson will celebrate the Inaugural Dyson First Cousins Family Reunion in San Francisco, California, August 16-19, 2024, along with generations of family, and friends in attendance.
Fletcher Emanuel Dyson was born on April 4, 1891, in Franklinton, Louisiana, to Eugene and Candasia Crane Burris Dyson, as the oldest of 8 brothers, (William, Ezekiel, Marion, Zadock, Jay, Roscoe, and Ollie), and 4 sisters, (Julia, Cornelia, Mary, and Eleanor).
Amanda Ophelia Magee was born on March 12, 1893, in Franklinton, Louisiana, to Samuel and Minnie Wilson Magee, the fourth of 12 children: (Brothers: Jobus, Cortez, Rhodes, and Theodore); Sisters: (Irene, Corine, Allie, Maude, Maria, Oda Lee, and Ola Lee).
Fletcher and Amanda were married on November 8, 1908. They had 5 children: Ellyson Frederick Dyson, Sr., (wife Marie), Terry Cleophus Dyson, Sr., (wife Hynither), Melodysse Fletcher Dyson, (wife Evelyn), Myrtle Candace Dyson Johnson), (husband Walter), and Coolidge Jones Dyson, (wife Edith).
