The Washington Parish Library is offering opportunities for residents interested in serving their community. Already a popular option for high school students in need of volunteer hours, the Library also has a need for adult volunteers. For instance, any resident interested in being considered for future service on the Library Board of Control can email their resume with a short note about their interest in the Library to Board@mywpl.info. This information is saved for future use as the need arises.
The Friends of the Washington Parish Library are also a great opportunity for helping the library and serving the community. The Friends are a key contributor to the Library’s Summer Reading Program every year. Anyone interested in joining the Friends or learning more, can email Friends@mywpl.info.
Finally, adults can volunteer for their local branch directly. Our volunteers help the staff by shelving books, preparing materials for programming, and everything in between. Volunteers help our staff with any number of tasks. Anyone interested can fill out a volunteer application at their local branch.
