Pine’s Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal is well known around here. Derrick Dillon had an outstanding football career at Pine High before going on to play at LSU and then being signed by the NY Giants.
Dillon is a 2015 graduate of Pine High School. While at Pine, he had the honor of being recognized as one of the top high school players in the nation when he was chosen to play in the US Army All- American game. Dillon led the Raiders to a first round playoff win and was one of the few high school football players nationwide to be invited to the Nike Opening Camp.
At LSU, Dillon quickly entered the spotlight when he scored his first touchdown, a 71 yard reception, against Auburn to help his team win the game. Another memorable moment during his LSU career was his 49 yard touchdown pass during the UCF Fiesta Bowl game. At LSU, Dillon was a three-year starter and a member of the 2019 LSU Tiger National Championship team. He graduated from LSU in 2019 with a degree in Sports Administration. Following his time at college, Dillon went on to sign with the New York Giants.
Dillon is the son of Ella Dillon and the late Earl Cotton. He and his girlfriend Bianca Dixon share an infant daughter, De’Lani Dillon (shown at right in photo). Dillon comes from a large, close-knit family, including three sisters: Lashanda Dillon, Areana Cotton and Lauren Dillon, and one brother, Broddick Dillon.
In recognition of Derrick Dillon’s dedication to our community and impact on our school, Pine High School is honored to have him as our 2021 grand marshal.
