Hezekiah Magee (1796-1870), the second child of William Magee I (1762-1837) and Mary Margaret James Magee (1771-1867), had thirteen children with wife Dicey Magee (1800-1878). We pick up this week with their third child Morgany who was born in January of 1824. And my source for this column is the "William Magee and Mary Margaret James and their Descendants 1770 - 1993" book.
Morgany Magee (1824-1846) married George Roberts Bickham. Married at age 14, Morgany died at age 22, just two days after her fourth child was born. During the early years of their marriage, they lived in Tangipahoa Parish where seven of their ten children were born, but in 1868 they purchased the William Brumfield place between Clifton and Mt. Hermon. William Brumfield was my great-great-great grandfather. After the purchase the Bankstons, just as the Brumfields before them, operated the Post Office there, which remained within the home until it was closed in 1895 and moved first to Mt. Point and then to Mt. Hermon. The residence was originally a Spanish trading post, being transformed into a home around 1837. It remains owned by Bankston descendants. Louisa Magee and husband Peter Bankston had the following children: Cleo Olivia Bankston, who married George W. McGehee; Geneva Jemima Bankston; Leah Bankston; Nicholas Whitfield Bankston; Marion Peter Bankston; Lillie Louise Bankston, who married Charlie A. Burch; Claudius Bailey Bankston, who married Louvinia Wilkes; Leon Victor Bankston, who married Allie Ames Magee; Kate Etta Bankston, who married William Merideth Burch; and Angus Carl Bankston, who married Hazel Wilkes.

Madison, Fannie, and Elizabeth Magee died relatively young.

Waller, who at age one died of yellow fever, six days before her father succumbed to the same in 1878; and Jesse C. Waller, Jr., born two months after his father's death and married Nora Lee Pullen.
