To the Citizens of Washington Parish:
It was not until the September 13, 2021 meeting of the Washington Parish Fair committee chairmen and executive board that a motion was made and voted upon to host the 2021 edition of the fair.
Time was short and there was much to be done to have the fairgrounds, ravaged by weather and idle for two years, ready for visitors. There was also a sense of life returning to some form of normalcy following the Covid pandemic. Luckily, the volunteer spirit is alive and well and with the combined efforts of many, the 2021 Washington Parish Free Fair was a tremendous success!!
Thank you to all who gave of their time and resources as well as those who entered exhibits, participated in the parade, showed animals, performed on stage and attended the many events that make up the world's largest free county fair.
It is the hope of the fair's chairmen and board members that those who volunteered for the first time will return again and again to assist with staging this great reunion we all know and love. And, if anyone wants to become a volunteer ---- simply step up and do it; everyone's talents and efforts will be appreciated. There's always something for everyone at the Washington Parish Free Fair.
