Loranger Lady Wolves
vs. Franklinton Lady Demons
The Loranger Lady Wolves traveled to Franklinton on Tuesday March 19, 2024 to face the Franklinton Lady Demons in district play.
The Lady Demons snatched the lead late in their 4-2 victory over Loranger Lady Wolves. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Skylar Branch homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Branch struck out 14 batters on the day. They also allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings while walking one.
A ground out by Makayla Husser put Loranger Lady Wolves on the board in the top of the first.
Loranger Lady Wolves committed an error, which helped Franklinton Lady Demons tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
A single by Shyanne Burris gave Franklinton the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fourth.
Paige Tassin singled, which helped Loranger Lady Wolves tie the game at two in the top of the fifth.
Husser took the loss for Loranger Lady Wolves. They went six innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out nine and walking three.
Branch drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Franklinton Lady Demons with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Burris wen 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Demons in hits.
Mikayla Watts set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Loranger Lady Wolves with two hits in four at bats. Husser and Tassin each drove in one run for Loranger Lady Wolves. Watts stole three bases. Loranger Lady Wolves ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.

Franklinton Lady Demons vs. Riverdale Varsity Rebels
Franklinton Lady Demons traveled to Destrehan, LA this past weekend. They played two games in a Round Robin hosted by The Destrehan Fighting Wildcats.
Despite leading by as many as four runs, Franklinton Varsity Lady Demons fell to Riverdale High School Rebels 21-6 on Saturday, March 23.
The Lady Demons got on the board in the top of the second inning after Laura Brauninger was struck by a pitch, Skylar Branch walked, Shyanne Burris walked, and Franklinton Lady Demons scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.
Riverdale High School Rebels flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring eight runs on two hits to take an 8-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Brown that drove in two.
Riverdale added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, and Payton Galloway induced Ritter to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
The Rebels scored nine runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. D Thomas was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Thomas singled, scoring one run, Williams singled, scoring two runs, Wood singled, scoring one run, Tibodeaux drew a walk, scoring one run, and Glover singled, scoring two runs.
Williams earned the win for Riverdale High School Rebels. They allowed one hit and four runs (three earned ) over two innings, striking our three and walking five. Galloway took the loss for Franklinton. They went three and two-thirds innings, allowing 21 runs (14 earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking seven.
Branch, Heaven McNeese, and Audrey Carter each collected one hit for the Lady Demons. Brauninger, Branch, Burris, Carter, and Jaylee Dardar each drove in one run for Franklinton Varsity Lady Demons. Carter stole two bases. The Lady Demons worked the count all day, accumulated seven walks. Franklinton turned one double play in the game.
Riverdale accumulated 11 hits in the game. Thomas, the number nine hitter for Riverdale, led the way with four runs batted in. Leadoff hitter Thomas led Riverdale with three hits in three at bats. Glover collected two hits for Riverdale in two at bats. Tibodeaux led Riverdale High School Rebels with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Wood, Thomas, and Thomas each stole multiple bases for Riverdale High School Rebels. Riverdale High School ran wild on the base paths, collecting nine stolen bases for the game. Riverdale High School Rebels turned one double play in the game. Riverdale High School Rebels were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Williams had the most chances in the field with one.

Franklinton Varsity Lady Demons vs. Destrehan Fighting Wildcats
Destrehan Varsity Fighting Wildcats defeated Franklinton Varsity Lady Demons 16-0 on Saturday thanks in part to nine runs in the third inning.
Destrehan Varsity Fighting Wildcats jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Z. Hartley singled, scoring one run, L. Cassagne doubled, scoring one run, J. Lozano singled, scoring one run, R. Staton lined out, scoring one run, A. Vicknair tripled, scoring two runs, and Z. Hartley singled, scoring one run.
Destrehan Varsity Fighting Wildcats scored nine runs on 10 hits in the top of the third inning. J. Lozano doubled, scoring two runs, G. Bourgeious doubled, scoring one run, A. Burkett tripled, scoring one run, C. Bordelon singled, scoring one run, L. Vicknair doubled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored one run.
C. Burford earned the win for Destrehan Varsity Fighting Wildcats. They surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none. Payton Galloway took the loss for Franklinton Varsity Lady Demons. They went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering 16 runs on 16 hits, striking out none and walking one.
Skylar Branch went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Franklinton Varsity Lady Demons in hits.
Destrehan Varsity Fighting Wildcats accumulated 18 hits in the game. J. Lozano went 3-for-3 at the plate as they led the team with three runs batted in. Z. Harley, C. Burford, V. Marrow, and G. Bourgeious each collected multiple hits for Destrehan Varsity Fighting Wildcats. Z. Hartley stole two bases. Destrehan Varsity Fighting Wildcats didn't commit a single error in the field. A. Vicknair had the most chances in the field with four.
