The Franklinton Junior High Falcons football team won a crucial victory over the Varnado Junior high Wildcats last Tuesday in Demon Stadium, 28-6.
With the win the Falcons qualified for the Washington Parish Junior High championship game against the Pine Junior High Raiders.
The Falcons got on the board first as Rhett Anderson passed to Osean Warren for a 31 yard touchdown late in the first period.
The Falcons went up two scores late in the second period as Khaleel Wilson ran 34 yards for a score. The extra point was blocked and the score stood at 13-0 at the halftime intermission.
Anderson passed to Preston Venables for a 21 yard touchdown in the third period and the successful two point conversion run by Steven Tate put the Falcons up 21-0.
Steven Tate put the Falcons up 28-0 in the fourth period on his 27 yard run with 4:16 left in the game.
The Wildcats got on the board late as Peyton O'Bryant rushed for a 49 yard touchdown just before the game ended with the Falcons ahead 28-6.
Falcons quarterback Rhett Anderson passed for 116 yards and two touchdowns completing 4 of 6 passes and rushing for 41 yards on two carries. Steven Tate rushed six times for 78 yards and a touchdown. Khaleel Wilson rushed three times for 47 yards and Osean Warren rushed once for 15 yards. Warren caught two passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, Preston Venable caught one for 21 yards and a touchdown and Khaleel Wilson caught one for 26 yards. Warren also had an interception as did Gabe Ezell.
