The Franklinton Junior High Falcons football team rolled over the Varnado Junior High Wildcats last week 26-0 on the road. The win keeps them in contention to play in the Washington Parish Junior High championship in order to defend their 2022 championship. That Championship game will be played at Mt Hermon on Monday October 30.
Against the Wildcats the Falcons scored in the first period as Khaleel Wilson ran in a thirty six yard touchdown to put them up 6-0 as the extra point was no good.
Later in the first period the Falcons increased their lead to 12-0 when Rhett Anderson passed to Khaleel Wilson for a twenty five yard touchdown. The extra point kick was no good again.
In the second period Rhett Anderson ripped off a sixty five yard touchdown run to put the Falcons up 18-0 before Gabe Ezell added the extra point to make the score 19-0. The 19-0 score would stand at the halftime intermission.
In the third period the Falcons scored for their final time as Steven Tate ripped off a twenty five yard run to make the score 25-0 before Gabe Ezell added the extra point for a 26-0 score in favor of the Falcons.
Coach Andy Creel played numerous reserves in the final period and the Falcons came away with the victory.
The Falcons are set to play a big game against the Pine Raiders on October 10 on the road.
