The Franklinton Lady Demons softball team had trouble keeping up with the Lakeshore Titans in a 22-6 loss.
The Titans jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Lauren Veillette doubled, scoring one run, Sydney Arnold doubled, scoring one run, and error scored one run, and error scored two runs, and Maddisyn Peneguy doubled, scoring one run.
The Franklinton Lady Demons made the score 5-4 in the bottom of the first inning when Skylar Branch homered to left field, scoring two runs, Heaven McNeese singled, scoring one run, and Gracie Nelson singled, scoring one run.
The Lakeshore Titans added two runs in the second. Jaycee Ray singled, making the score 7-4.
The Titans scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Peneguy drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and an error scored two runs.
Then the Titans scored 10 runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored two runs, Peneguy singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and error scored two runs, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, and Sophia Zelaya was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Annabella Litolff earned the win for Lakeshore. The right gave up eight hits and six runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Payton Galloway took the loss for the Franklinton Lady Demons. They went five innings, surrendering 23 runs (nine earned) on 14 hits, striking out none and walking five.
Branch provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Lady Demons with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Franklinton turned one double play in the game.
Lakeshore amassed 14 hits in the game. Litolff and Peneguy were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in four runs for the Titans. Arnold led Lakeshore with three hits in four at bats. Ray and Lindsay Taylor each collected multiple hits for the Titans. Ray stole two bases. The Titans had a strong eye at the plate, piling up five walks for the game.
