The Franklinton Junior High Lady Falcons softball team fell to the Pine Lady Raiders last Thursday at home, 14-6.
The Lady Raiders scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead but the Lady Falcons did not score in their half of the inning to remain behind.
In the second inning the Lady Raiders, again scored three runs to take a commanding 6-0 lead on the Lady Falcons. The Lady Falcons fought back in the bottom and scored three runs as Jordyn Polk got a hit before Skylar Breaux and Isabelle Prevot each drew a walk. Ryleigh Carter pushed across a run on her hit as did Hallie Garner to cut the score to 6-3 as the Lady Falcons left the bases loaded.
The Lady Raiders pushed their lead back to six runs as they plated three more in the top of the third. They scored two more in the fourth for an 11-3 lead. Three more runs in the fifth gave the Lady Raiders a 14-3 lead.
The Lady Falcons scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth as Jessie Puderer drew a walk before Aliyah Bascle bunted her over and reached safely herself. Serenity Terrebone got a hit to load the bases before Jordyn Polk got hit by a pitch to push a run across. Anslee McBeth drew a walk to push across another before Skylar Breaux got another hit. The game was then called due to the time limit with the Lady Raiders ahead 14-6.
The Lady Falcons will play their next game on March 1 against Loranger Middle school at the FHS softball field.
