Southeastern Louisiana University celebrated its graduates Saturday, Dec. 13, in two separate commencement ceremonies in the University Center.
Southeastern graduates included 344 men and 716 women, who were receiving 15 different degrees and representing 10 states and 18 countries. Candidates for associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees were honored.
The university awarded its highest academic honor, the President’s Medal for Academic Excellence, to 13 students with the highest cumulative grade point average in the university’s five colleges.
Medal recipients were:
College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences – political science major Brett Pascal Angelette of Independence; criminal justice major Makayla R. Delmore of Gonzales; art major Micah L. Leverett of Covington; and English major Ally Camille Taylor of Denham Springs.
College of Business – business administration major Georgia Gemmell of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; finance major Marno H. Du Plessis of Johannesburg, South Africa; and accounting major Eloura Riewerts of Walker.
College of Education – middle school education major Kaitlyn Michelle Buquoi of Gonzales.
College of Nursing and Health Sciences – communication sciences and disorders major Laici Claire Edrington of Metairie; nursing major Meredith Anne Keating of LaPlace; and kinesiology major Bryce David Onellion of Denham Springs.
College of Science and Technology – biological sciences major Emilee Nicole Brewer of Ponchatoula; and biological sciences major Emma Kay Pradillo of Madisonville.
