ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (AP) — One of Louisiana's state historic sites will host a traditional French sing-along event on Dec. 11.
Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser's office, which oversees tourism marketing and state parks in Louisiana, announced that the Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site a cappella singing and dancing event will start at 10 a.m.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance our visitor experience with special events at our Louisiana state parks and historical sites," Nungesser said in a statement. “This is the first time our Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site staff and volunteers will hold the French sing-along event and we are all excited.”
French lyrics with English translation will be provided to visitors, and the lieutenant governor's office said people don't need to be fluent in French or a skilled singer to participate. The standard $4 per person admission fee to enter the historic site will be charged for the event.
