Washington Parish LSU fans were nervous and worried this past weekend as the Tigers unexpectedly fell to Little Rock in Game 2 of NCAA regional action.
But LSU came flying back in Game 3 on Monday, using a 3-run 9th inning to clinch the deciding win over Little Rock and moving into the Super Regional this coming weekend.
LSU will have a home field advantage in the Super Regional, which will be played at Alex Box stadium on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers will face West Virginia in the Super Regional, with the winner of the 2 or 3 game series heading to the College World Series, which will be held June 13 thru June 23.
The first game of the best of 3 Baton Rouge Super Regionals is Saturday at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
Game 2 is Sunday at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
Game 3, if needed, will be played on Monday at a time to be announced.
West Virginia comes into the Super Regional as the Big 12 regular season champion, holding a 44-14 season record.
LSU, ranked #6 nationally, is 46-15 on the season.
