Maria Montez Jacobs, 62, a long-time resident of Franklinton, Louisiana passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on March 10th, 2025. She was born on June 17th, 1962 and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be celebrated by her beloved husband Elmer Jacobs, daughters Keyonna and Meosha Jacobs, and her adored grandchildren Kayden, Aspen, and Easton, along with her extended family and a community that loved and respected her deeply.
Maria impacted on the lives of many. She was an accomplished singer, songwriter, and recording artist, with albums such as "Jammin' for Jesus", "Not Ashamed" (1995), and "All of Me" (2007). She brought joy and inspiration to many. She was also the author of a book titled "Double Jeopardy" (2024), a touching account of her life, triumphs, and faith during her courageous battle with cancer.
In her career, she was a licensed cosmetologist, beauty school instructor, and proud owner of Shear Reflections Beauty Salon, where she dedicated years to making people look and feel their best every day. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led her to create Mom-4-a-Day sitting service, in addition to other business accomplishments that followed.
Her funeral service will be held at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church: 24298 Harvey Road Franklinton, Louisiana 70438, where friends and family will gather for a memorial to honor her life and legacy.
Maria Jacobs was a beacon of light to all who knew her and will forever resonate in our hearts.
